From the Corner to the Center - When young people advocate for public space for all young people

The young volunteers from the LDA CSS Knjazevac are actively engaged into public advocacy campaign for the formation of a Youth Center in Knjazevac. 

The project “From the Youth Corner to the Youth Center” contributes to increasing youth activism and promoting youth dialogue with decision makers in the municipality of Knjazevac. 

With the symbolic signing earlier in the year 2022, the project "From the Youth Corner to the Youth Center" has begun. This project is one of 15 supported through the Together for an active civil society - ACT project within the Public Advocacy program at the local level.

Through a series of activities (workshops, panel discussions, collecting signatures of citizens in support of the initiative to open a Youth Center in Knjazevac, a public outdoor cultural event and a meeting with representatives of local authorities), this project engages the young people of Knjazevac in the campaign of advocating for public space for young people.

Currently a campaign of public advocacy for the formation of a Youth Center is on and the young people are discussing about the several themes concerning Youth Center:  how it will be managed, what are the programs that it will be consisted of, what sort of the contents will be included...

So far, a group of young volunteers has gone through public advocacy training and the drafting of the strategy has began. After this, street actions, as well as meetings with local self-government representatives are planned.

Also, a several calls in form of competition will be announced: the call for the name of the Youth Center, the call for the conceptual solution of the Logo of the Center and the call for the conceptual solution for interior decoration of the Center.
